The third deal sees Canada-headquartered Processia added to its network. “This will help us develop even more effective security solutions that meet growing cybersecurity and privacy needs,” said Barnabé, pointing at the growing cyber risks landscape. The deal comes within a year after the cybersecurity practice already beefed up its capabilities with the acquisitions of Motiv ICT Security in the Netherlands and SEC Consult in the DACH region. The bolt-on adds a team of around 40 professionals to Atos in Germany, and bolsters its cybersecurity offerings. The company, based in Gelsenkirchen, is particularly active in the public and defense sectors, as well as other sectors with highly demanding regulations and security standards. In Germany, Atos has acquired cryptovision, a company that designs, develops and implements cryptography software and security solutions for securing digital identities. “With this strategic move, Atos is reinforcing its position in edge and computer vision and complementing its existing end-to-end offering in artificial intelligence and machine learning,” said Pierre Barnabé, Senior Executive Vice President, Global Head of Big Data & Security at Atos. Since founding in 2001, Ipsotek has delivered more than 600 projects in 30+ countries, across sectors including the public sector, retail, manufacturing, transportation, and critical infrastructure sectors such as defence and utilities. Based in London, Ipsotek’s software enables its clients to track people and objects in spaces, for uses cases including crowd management, smoke detection, intrusion detection, perimeter protection, number plate recognition and traffic management. In the UK, Atos has purchased Ipsotek, a provider of video analytics software solutions. The latest raft of deals takes Atos’ acquisition tally to over a dozen transactions over the past two years. IT services giant Atos has continued its buy-and-build strategy with the acquisition of three companies in Europe and North America.
